Mark Aizikovitch - In jiddischn Wort
Inspired by the work of author Arno Lustiger on Stalin and the Jews, Mark Aizikovitch collected songs by Soviet Jewish poets that testify to the lives, suffering, and joys of the Jewish population in the Soviet Union from the 1930s to the 1950s. The songs tell of exclusion and war, but also of lively Jewish weddings and, of course, love. Time and again, they celebrate the love for the Russian homeland and pride in Jewish culture.
